On April 25, 2015, at approximately 10:30 PM three young employees of margaritas Mexican restaurant in Conroe were heading home for the night on FM 3083. Approach next on road, a Chevrolet trailblazer, ran off the side of the road. The negligent driver overcorrected his vehicle and cross into the oncoming southbound traffic on FM 3083 and placing himself directly in front of the car with three employees in it. The trailblazer was struck near the passenger right back door, causing the car to flip over and land on a nearby utility pole. The driver of the smaller vehicle, Toyota, which had the employees inside of it, was ejected through the front windshield. Another passenger who was riding in the cargo area was ejected through the rear hatch. Two other occupants were in the back seat and may have been ejected as well.
The driver one passenger were transported to a nearby hospital in very critical condition. Two other passengers were transported in critical condition. The passenger who was ejected the cargo area was thrown into the woods and died at the scene. He was transported to the Montgomery County forensics center for autopsy.
The three occupants in the Toyota were transported in stable condition to the hospital.
Texas Department of Public Safety officers close FM 3083 down to 5 AM is investigating the crash. The vehicles are moved back to the position they were in when the crash occurred. Conroe fire Department responded to the scene with their ladder truck to enable troopers to photograph the scene from overhead. They were assisted by Montgomery County Dist. Atty.’s office vehicle or crimes unit.
It is believed the driver of the SUV was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
